3 Questions with Terry Kane
If you’ve ever walked into a one-day White Claw Sessions show and thought, “how did they pull this off?” — chances are, Terry Kane was behind it. With decades of touring and live-event experience, he’s part of the small but mighty Mobile Ops team that turns G7’s ideas into fully realized shows in a matter of hours. We caught up with him to talk about what makes these builds special, how the team keeps its cool across twenty markets, and what he’s most excited for when the holiday season rolls around.
What are you currently working on?
This year I’ve been leading production for the White Claw Sessions Series, which is a run of one-day pop-up shows in cities across the country. Each stop is its own small world. We come in, build a full venue from the ground up, run the show, and then turn it all back into an empty space by the next day. It’s an adrenaline rush and a creative puzzle all in one.
After decades of producing concerts, I’ve learned the basics don’t really change, whether you’re producing for twenty people or twenty thousand. It’s always about the feeling. If it looks good, sounds good, and feels good, everyone walks away remembering it. The Sessions are especially rewarding because they’re intimate. There’s no barricade between the artist and the crowd. The connection is immediate and honest.
You’re part of G7’s Mobile Ops team, which has been everywhere this year. How has the team been evolving or improving?
We’ve really focused on deepening relationships with the partners who help make these shows possible. When you’re activating in twenty different markets at once, success literally depends on people. We’ve nurtured incredible crews who share our “show must go on” mentality and bring the same consistency and care that we do.
We’re also constantly refining our processes — things like load-in schedules, communication systems, and how we document every setup so that the next one runs even smoother. Live events move fast, and no two days are ever the same, but having the right people and clear systems in place keeps everything on track.
What are you looking forward to this holiday season?
A little downtime, honestly. After months on the road, I’m excited to slow down and spend time with family and friends. Maybe listen to some music I’m not responsible for producing. And of course, the G7 holiday party karaoke. I’ve been practicing my ELO French verse and maybe a little Robert Palmer if the mood’s right.
